It's Almost Time...

Woo-Hoo! It's almost time for the FIRST DAY OF FIRST GRADE! Mrs. Simmons and Ms. Espasandin are so excited for school to start. Just a few reminders:

*If you plan to arrive at the Meet the Teacher/Ice Cream Social between 4:00 and 4:30 on August 29th, you might want to bring the requested school supplies and items for specials. As a reminder, 1D students should bring: 1 box gallon size zipper lock bags, 1 large box tissues, a complete change of dress code clothing in a zip-loc bag, an art smock (an oversize t-shirt works well for this), P.E. shoes, and a swimsuit.  PLEASE LABEL ALL ITEMS. If your family will arrive after 4:30 – no problem! Just bring the requested items on the first day of school.

* You are welcome to bring a small picture of yourself and/or your family to school on the first day. If you do bring a photo, make sure it is a copy that can stay in our classroom. Many 1D kids choose to post this picture on their cubby door.

*THINK about where you've been this summer...the pool, the park, the library, a vacation spot - anywhere you have BEEN! After reading You're Finally Here! by Melanie Watt we will ask the 1D Kids to share somewhere they have been.
